Put down the mouthwash. There should be a warning label for increasing awareness about the use of over-the-counter antiseptic mouthwash.

Various studies have shown that mouthwash 2x per day is associated with increased hypertension due to the reduction of nitrate-reducing bacteria in our mouths (saliva), which converts nitrite to nitric oxide, supporting cardiovascular + circulation, oxygen delivery, I’m mune modulation, neurotransmission. Additionally, Mouthwash with alcohol or has a low pH can also be corrosive to the epithelial lining of the gums, leading to leaky gums. Additionally, create dryness which can make an opportunity for pathogenic bacteria to hold due to less saliva and change of pH.
A 2017 study, with a three year follow up showed using mouthwash twice per day was associated with increased risk of developing prediabetes/diabetes in overweight/obese – 40-65-year-old and free of diabetes and Cv disease

Remember that 1 out of Americans has hypertension and is likely overweight or obese.

Reduced levels of nitric oxide availability = associated with the worsening of diseases like atherosclerosis + diabetes + sepsis.

Instead to reduce the need for using mouth wash.

Eat nutrient-dense food (less likely of having a small intestine bacterial overgrowth. Foods containing vitamin K2 (natto + liver + unpasteurized cheese), collagen (bone broth) + vitamin A (organs) + minerals (shellfish)
Adequate sunlight to support oral health
Get zen. Switch on parasympathetic mode when eating to help facilitate digestive secretions + movement.
Brush + floss well
See a hygienist
Mouth tape at night if you’re a mouth breather
Tongue scrap – morning + night
Try coconut oil pulling instead.

I have a coconut oil pulling recipe to try in my stories.

Studies cited on my Twit ter account.
