It’s all about that core ’bout that core…
Lately I’ve been touching on core strength in my stories.
Core strength is so important for every day life tasks like walking, sitting and standing, cleaning, laundry, carrying groceries, putting away dishes, etc.
Your core stabilizes your body and helps you balance. Core strength is especially important as we age as a weak core increases your fall risk.
Your core is also your base for many exercises, especially weightlifting. If you don’t have a strong core when lifting heavy weights, you could easily injure yourself.
I really notice my core during obstacle races. Your core is getting engaged and worked throughout the entire race, from keeping you from falling when running to keeping you upright when carrying heavy sand bags and buckets.
