Change requires action from us.⁣
So let’s look at this structure and attempt something this week.⁣
I’ll use my own example.⁣
After writing out some changes I wanted to make I’ve selected one as the priority:⁣
1. Get back into a regular movement routine⁣
(Sounds basic.. like an idea. Now we add structure…)⁣
2. I’m going to ride my peloton for 30 minutes every weekday morning after my daughter gets picked up from her bus (notice how specific this is — I know exactly how often, when and for how long. Specifically I know this is Monday to Friday, right after bus pick up and for 30 minutes. I can measure this. Meaning I can look back on this at the end of the week and easily calculate what my success was)⁣
3. I’ve made this a task to accomplish this week so on Sunday I’ll check in ⁣
4. Sunday reflect and see what comes up. I write down if I did it. If I didn’t. And then take a guess at understanding my “why” if I didn’t do it (this takes practice and is sometimes where we have an accountability person — like a friend or professional — to help understand that narrative.)⁣
